Singing & Dance
Calling all potential directors!

The committee of CTG would like to invite proposals for our production for April 2020 (16-18 April)
If you want to direct the group, now is the time to step up to the limelight!
The committee does not want to dictate what production we put on, but we feel it may be helpful to offer some guidance as to what we would be looking for in a suitable show.
In the early days of CTG, when our active membership was significantly larger, we were in a great position of being able to put on three if not four productions a year. One of these was usually quite ‘indulgent’ regularly being suitable for festival entry and the requirement to 'put bums on seats' to ensure the finances of the group remained in a good place was not prevalent.
Today we need both productions, Panto and April, to encourage good audience attendance.
To do this ideally we would be looking for a production which will appeal to our larger audience base. It does not have to be something well known, but it does need to be easily ‘saleable’
For those who remember Ladies' Day that would be a good example. This relatively unknown play was easy to sell! Four fish factory workers head to the races for the day, but will they win big time? Hilarious comedy!
So, whether you would like to propose a comedy, thriller, or drama just consider how we encourage our audience to come.
Other things the committee will reflect on are our cast size, age and gender of the actors required, complications of sets and requirements for backstage crew and costumes.
If you have an idea and would like to have an informal chat then please just call Wendy E or Lisa. Otherwise please let us know what you would like to put forward, a synopsis of the play, cast description, scenes and any other creative ideas you would like to share.
We really look forward to hearing from you and would ask for your submissions by the end of June.
Thank you
CTG Committee
